Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi along with his sister and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were stopped by the Uttar Pradesh Police at the Ghazipur border on their way to Sambhal.
The opposition party leaders, including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, returned to Delhi after staying at the Delhi-Uttar Pradesh border for about two hours.
Holding up a copy of the Constitution in his hands amid heavy security at the Delhi-Uttar Pradesh border, Rahul Gandhi said the police’s decision was against democracy.
“”We are trying to go to Sambhal, but the police are refusing, they are not allowing us. As LoP, it is my right to go, but they are stopping me. I was ready to go alone and go with the police, but they did not accept that either. They are saying that if we return in a few days, they will let us go. This is against the rights of the LoP and the Constitution. We just want to go to Sambhal and see what happened there, we want to meet the people. My constitutional right is not being given to me. This is the new India, this is the India to end the Constitution. This is the India to end Ambedkar’s Constitution. We will keep fighting,” ,” he added.

Priyanka Vadra said what happened in Sambhal was wrong and as the LoP, Rahul Gandhi has the constitutional right to visit it.
“He is different from other people. He cannot be stopped. He has the constitutional right to go and meet the victims, he should be allowed,” the Wayanad Lok Sabha MP added.
Former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister and PCC chief Sachin Pilot in tweet on X wrote,
