The agitating farmers have given a call for a new Delhi Chalo to all farmers in North India on December 14 in which the farmers plan to gherao Delhi from all sides.
The farmers have asked those in south India to protest at the district headquarters. The farmer leaders have also said that they would gherao BJP ministers, BJP district offices and boycott BJP leaders on December 14.
Farmers will also make all toll plazas across the country toll-free on December 12 as part of the protest. One of the farmer leaders said the protesters will block all highways to Delhi on December 14.
The move comes after the farmer leaders met Home Minister Amit Shah and the government sent a revised proposal to the farmers and offered to give a written assurance that the existing MSP regime will continue along with a promise to strengthen the mandi system. However, the farmers completely rejected the proposal and said there was nothing new in the proposal and called it an insult of the farmers of the country.
