External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has said that the soul of a civilisation found its expression once again as the new Ram Lalla idol was consecrated at the Ayodhya temple, an event watched by lakhs of people on television at their homes and in temples across the country.
On X Jaishankar wrote , “At the Pran Pratishtha ceremony today, the soul of a civilisation finds expression once again. And the message of virtue, honour, justice and commitment reverberates around the world.”

Dressed in a golden kurta with a cream-coloured dhoti and patka, the Prime Minister walked into the sanctum sanctorum of the temple holding a silver umbrella on a folded red dupatta.
PM Modi took part in the elaborate ‘pran pratishtha’ rituals in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.
Over 8,000 guests have been invited for the ceremony at the grand temple.
