Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi fondly remembered his father late former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 31st death anniversary. It was on this fateful day in May 21, 1991 while campaigning in the General elections, Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated by LTTE suicide bomber Dhanu at a rally in Sriperumbudur ( Tamil Nadu) at 10: 20 pm , 40 kms from then Madras.
Taking to twitter Rahul Gandhi wrote , My father was a visionary leader whose policies helped shape modern India. He was a compassionate & kind man, and a wonderful father to me and Priyanka, who taught us the value of forgiveness and empathy. I dearly miss him and fondly remember the time we spent together.
