After BJP president Amit Shah during a rally in Assam slammed Congress for compromising national security, it was the turn of the Congress president Rahul Gandhi to hit back. In tweet Rahul Gandhi lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not giving martyr status to 40 CRPF jawans killed in Pulwama .
Rahul also incidentally linked the Pulwama attack and the Rafale deal to target Modi and mentioned Anil Ambani as well
The brave are martyred. Their families struggle.40 Jawans give their lives but are denied the status of “Shaheed”. While this man has never given & only taken. He’s gifted 30,000Cr of their money & will live happily ever after. Welcome to Modi’s NEW INDIA.https://t.co/VjiJvSzN2h

It may be recalled In 2017, the ministry of defence stated in response to an RTI query that there is no term as ‘martyr’ or ‘shaheed’ in the Army or the police. It said that a soldier or a policeman killed in action is called a ‘battle casualty’ or ‘operations casualty’ respectively.
The Congress party too, gunned at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the party , in a press conference addressed by Communications in-charge Randeep Surjewala alleged that PM Modi was shooting documentary film in Corbett national park for “propaganda and publicity” till the evening of February 14 despite the Pulwama attack taking place in the afternoon that day.
#ModiFailsNationalSecurity pic.twitter.com/wuqZC2J0cu

It also launched a scathing attack on the ruling BJP in a series of questions on its party’s twitter handle in the wake of the Pulwama strike that killed more than 40 CRPF jawans.
It has been 1 week since the deadly attacks on our jawans in Pulwama and neither the PM, the NSA nor the Home Minister has taken responsibility for the failure of national security & the attack on our soldiers. The govt. must answer India’s questions. #ModiFailsNationalSecurity pic.twitter.com/kFq7EJZKzq

PM Modi would rather spend his time electioneering than declare a period of national mourning, fly off to South Korea instead of taking responsibility for Pulwama & embrace the “ambassador of Pakistan” instead of taking the time to grieve with families.#ModiFailsNationalSecurity

Why was request of CRPF for movement of troops by air denied by MHA? Were the CRPF Jawans not stranded for one week on account of bad weather before the convoy movement? Would air transit not have saved precious lives of our Jawans?#ModiFailsNationalSecurity pic.twitter.com/ydTeN8GgqX
