BJP is keen to make in- roads in West Bengal seriously it seems. After BJP president Amit Shah addressed a public rally in Purulia on June 29. It was the turn of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take a dig at the ruling Trinamool Congress government of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Addressing a rally in West Midnapore, Prime Minister Narendra Modi slammed the Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal accusing the chief minister of running a ‘murder your opponents’ syndicate and ignoring the youth, poor and farmers of the state.
In his 40-minute address , PM Modi’s attack was reserved for what he called the “appeasement politics” of Mamata Banerjee, saying even Durga Puja, the heartbeat of Bengal, was in danger because of it. The reference was to the Chief Minister’s last year’s embargo on Durga immersion ceremony in view of Ramzan processions, which had triggered widespread anger in the state.
Modi further said, “I can see the state of the Trinamool (Congress) government. We all know how it is. There is no benefit for farmers, development for poor or jobs for the youth. This has become the new identity of the state.”
Modi also lamented he law and order situation in the state. “The real face of ‘Ma Mati Manush’ is for everyone to see. There is a ‘murder your opponents’ syndicate operating here,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister’s Rally was not a smooth one . As a make shift tent collapsed at the venue. According to media reports more than 20 people were injured . After finishing his speech PM Modi visited the injured at the hospital.
