Three Pakistani fighter planes apparently violated Indian air space in J-K’s Poonch and Rajouri sectors and dropped bombs on the way out says media reports . The Pakistani jets entered Nowshera in Rajouri district but were pushed back by Indian fighter jets, a top official reportedly said.
According to latest media reports , India shot down a Pakistani F-16 jet that violated the Indian air space in retaliatory fire 3km within Pakistan territory in Lam valley, Nowshera sector.
“The jets entered into Indian air space over Nowshera sector this morning,” the official said. They were immediately pushed back by Indian jets on air patrol.
All commercial flights have been halted from the Srinagar, Leh, Pathankot airports. Indian air force jets on standby to meet any eventuality.
Important industrial locations, especially those in states bordering Pakistan, are preparing against any war-like emergency. All the airports are being put on ‘level two’ security alerts.
Reliance Industries’s Jamnagar refinery, the HPCL-Mittal refinery in Bhatinda, Nayara Energy’s Vadinar facility, Indian Oil’s Panipat, Mathura and Koyali refineries are in states sharing their border with Pakistan.”
