After their first meeting in Patna on June 23 called by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar , Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has now invited leaders for next Opposition meet in Bengaluru on July 17-18.
”The meeting was great success as we were able to discuss various important issues that threaten our democratic polity and cane to our unanimous agreement on unitedly fight the next General Election””, said Kharge in his invitation letter.
Kharge reminded the leaders of the promise to meet in again in July. “It believe it is important to continue with the discussions and build the momentum we have created , We need to work together to find solutions to the challenges the country is facing” pointed out Kharge.
Th Patna meeting saw leaders like Sharad Pawar, Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, Uddhav Thackeray , D Raja, Raghav Chadha, Sanjay Singh Mamata Banerjee in attendance.
“In furtherance thereof I request you to kindly make it convenient to attend the meeting that will begin at 6pm, followed by dinner and on 18th July, the meeting will begin at 11AM.Looking forward to meeting in Bengaluru. Kharge wrote in his letter.
Confirming the meeting Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar said , “A meeting of leaders of all opposition parties (in the country) will be held on July 17 and 18, as already announced. All the leaders are going to come. (M) Mallikarjun Kharge (AICC President) has requested Sonia Gandhi to participate in this meeting. We have got a message that she will be participating in this meeting. ”
Shivakumar further said, “We will welcome all leaders who want to join this great movement for change in this country.”
