The Magistrate’s court in Mumbai has said that the bail applications of Aryan Khan and two others are not maintainable before it and hence it has been rejected.
In effect, Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan will spend the night at Arthur Road Jail . As the sessions Court where the he could once again file for bail is closed tomorrow.
Shah Rukh and family were waiting with hope that Aryan would get bail . Today was Aryan’s mother Gauri Khan’s birthday too. But the good news did not come in.
During the hearing, NCB opposed the grant of bail to Aryan Khan on grounds including that he is an influential person and may tamper with evidence.
Lawyer Satish Maneshinde, who appeared on behalf of Aryan, opposed the ground. “Merely because person belongs to affluent family, it cannot be said that evidence will be tampered with. What influence have I used? I am suffering for 6-7 days. People roaming free with much serious offences. I am not one of those,” he said.
The court had earlier rejected the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) plea seeking further custody of Aryan Khan, , and seven others, saying simply doing this would be ‘ violation of their fundamental rights’.

After his bail was rejected, Aryan Khan and other accused will be kept in a quarantine cell for 3-5 days in Arthur Jail, says Nitin Waychal, Superintendent of Arthur Jail. Earlier today the accused was brought to the Mumbai jail by the NCB.
The court gave judicial custody to the accused yesterday but they could not housed at the Arthur Road jail since it was past 6pm and their Covid tests were not done.
All the accused tested negative for Covid today.
