In a massive relief to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, a Delhi court ( Rouse Avenue) has granted him bail in a money laundering case stemming from the alleged excise scam.
According to PTI , Special Judge Niyay Bindu also declined the Enforcement Directorate’s prayer to keep in abeyance the bail order for 48 hours to allow the central agency to appeal against it in a superior court.
The judge ordered Kejriwal’s release on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh.
The court, however, imposed certain conditions on the AAP leader before granting him the relief, including that he will not try to hamper the investigation or influence the witnesses.
The judge also directed Kejriwal to appear before the court whenever required and to cooperate with the investigation.
Reactions from Opposition leaders have started coming in as soon as Kejriwal got bail.
AAP National Spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar quoted by ANI , “…This case is completely fake, the whole case has been written in the BJP office. We are very grateful to the court for giving a historic verdict. Regular bail in a PMLA case is nothing less than an acquittal…”
Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole quoted by ANI said, ” We welcome the decision of the court on Arvind Kejriwal. He was trapped, there was no mistake of him, it became clear through this…”
Delhi Minister and AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj quoted by ANI said , ” Rouse Avenue court granting bail to CM Arvind Kejriwal is a milestone for the whole country. This decision will become a big example in our law system. In PMLA, most people get relief only from the Supreme Court…usually, lower courts never give relief…so it is evident that the central govt has no proof in this case…”
AAP leader Durgesh Pathak told ANI , “This is a very happy occasion. I congratulate all the people. I can say only one thing that truth can be troubled but not defeated. I thank the court.”

Congratulations
Kejriwal gets bail
Long overdue
From the prosecutions standpoint now that elections are over no need to keep him in jail !
The justice delivery system has been unfair !
