London’s Metropolitan Police have said that in a terror related incident several people are believed to have sustained injuries in a stabbing incident that took place near London Bridge . It further stated that a person has been detained in alleged connection with it, according to various media reports.
The news came after witnesses reported hearing gunshots in the area. Sky News reported that police had shot the suspected attacker.
Scotland Yard said they were treating the incident “as though it is terror-related”.
The Metropolitan Police said the circumstances were “unclear”, adding, “As a precaution we are currently responding… as though it is terror-related. One man has been shot by police.”
