#MaharashtraCrisis : SC To Think Of Five-Judge Bench On August 8 ; Asks EC Not To Decide Shinde Group’s Application As Real Shiv Sena

After a rebellion in the Shiv Sena, Eknath Shinde 50 MLA’s joined hands with the BJP to form the government in Maharashtra toppling the MVA government Of Uddhav Thackeray comprising the Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress .

Shinde was sworn in as Chief Minister while former BJP CM Devendra fadnavis was sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister on June 30 . Since then there has been no cabinet expansion .

Meanwhile SC which began hearing a bunch of petitions related to the formation of Eknath Shinde-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, disqualification of rebel MLAs, and the right over the bow-and-arrow symbol has directed the following steps to be followed.

SC order gives relief to the  Uddhav Thackeray Sena while is set-back for the incumbent Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and BJP combine.

As  the ani report, says, Supreme Court says it may decide on August 8 whether to refer some issues involved in the Maharashtra political crisis to a five-judge Constitutional bench.

Supreme Court further has asked Election Commission of India not to decide on the application filed by Eknath Shinde camp for recognition as the ‘real Shiv Sena’ party and allotment of the Bow and Arrow symbol to it.

Lastly SC tells Election Commission that if the Uddhav Thackeray-led camp seeks time to file a response to its notices on Shinde camp’s petition, it should consider their request to adjourn the case.

Nationalist Congress Party president Sharad Pawar had earlier hit out at the Eknath Shinde-Devendra Fadnavis dispensation in Maharashtra claiming there was no sign of a cabinet expansion even as the state faces a “flood situation”. Chief Minister Shinde must observe and learn from the visits of opposition leaders to various affected areas so that people get relief, he added.

“It is about a month now (the Shinde government was sworn in on June 30) but there is no sign of ministers. There is a flood situation in the state and farmers are in trouble. A team of ministers is necessary to work in such a situation,” he told reporters.
