With Maharashtra Assembly elections 2019 round the corner on October 21, the Congress party has a major headache . Marred by dissent the party faces a big challenge to take on the BJP – Shiv Sena combine.
Adding to the woes of the party is that senior leader Sanjay Nirupam has refused to campaign for the party as the one name in Mumbai for the polls was was rejected by the party . He tweeted his anguish against the party .
It seems Congress Party doesn’t want my services anymore. I had recommended just one name in Mumbai for Assembly election. Heard that even that has been rejected.
As I had told the leadership earlier,in that case I will not participate in poll campaign.
Its my final decision.— Sanjay Nirupam (@sanjaynirupam) October 3, 2019
He also warned that he might leave the party in the future
I hope that the day has not yet come to say good bye to party. But the way leadership is behaving with me, it doesn’t seem far away. https://t.co/B07biJWp5M
