BJP in its quest for Congress Mukt Bharat ( Congress free India ) is leaving no stone unturned to woo leaders from across party lines to join the party. Thus proving that it is clearly no longer a party with a difference.
The long list of leaders from various parties tell the story – Gaurav Bhatia ( Samajwadi Party ), Naresh Agrawal ( Samajwadi Party ) Rita Bahuguna Joshi ( Congress) , Jay Panda ( BJD) , Tom Vadakkan ( Congress ) Arjun Singh ( Trinamool Congress) , Himanta Biswa Sarma ( Congress), Mukul Roy ( Trinamool Congress) . God knows how many will soon join ahead , given the induction spree by the party.
Now, just ahead of the elections the party has another star – joining the BJP bandwagon – actress Jaya Prada. The former MP represented Rampur constituency after winning Lok Sabha elections in 2004 and 2009 as a Samajwadi party candidate . She lost in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
She was welcomed into the party by general Secretary of the BJP , Bhupendra Yadav at the BJP office.
According to media reports, she is likely to take on senior Samajwadi party leader Azam Khan in Azamgarh .
