Limited Edt’s arrival marks a significant milestone in India’s ever-evolving fashion landscape. With their reputation for curating sought-after sneakers, they bring a buzz of excitement to enthusiasts and collectors alike. Sneakerheads witnessed the unveiling of Limited Edt’s “Urban Islander” collection, featuring a design philosophy reflecting the dynamic spirit of urban life. They could also visit the members-only “Vault”, accessible only via facial recognition, housing hard-to-find sneakers.
Mandeep Chopra, founder of Limited Edt, chose India for expansion due to family ties and the Indian audience’s demand for innovation. He shares, “In recent times I have seriously contemplated expanding beyond Singapore with an eye on Southeast Asia but with my family in India and seeing the potential during my visits I could not turn down the opportunity to give it a go. It’s a big step being our first foray outside of Singapore but keeping it within the family has been very reassuring. Neha and Gaurav with their knowledge and their own unique skill sets which complement each other gave me the extra confidence that I needed”. Gaurav Tandon is the Managing Director while Neha Chopra is the Marketing Director at Limited Edt.
The “Urban Islander” collection personifies the essence of a resident who thrives on the energy of a bustling cosmopolitan city while yearning for the tranquillity of a tropical escape. This duality reflects Singapore’s identity, translating into a streetwear line that’s stylish and sophisticated. At the heart of this collection lies the New Balance 580, with 3M reflective accents and a muted colour palette. The Helinox Chair One, OMBAK shirts and shorts, a rattan tote bag, New Era hat, and statement socks are playful additions that mark the versatility of the collection. The designer of this collection, Mark Ong aka Sabotage, is one of the industry’s pioneering sneaker customizers, with a portfolio that includes creations for athletes like Kobe Bryant and Steph Curry, and collaborations with brands like Nike SB, Puma, and New Balance. “I’m especially pumped because it’s my first time in India, and it’s with my sneaker bff to launch our UI collection!” shares Mark.
“We are thrilled to see this special Singapore collection being launched in India for the first time. India’s vibrant retail landscape presents an exciting opportunity for Singapore’s homegrown sneaker brand, Limited Edt, to connect with sneaker fans here. We hope Indian sneaker fans will enjoy shopping this exclusive collection, designed in collaboration with renowned sneaker designer Mark Ong, and also experience the Limited Edt distinct lifestyle concept that is a testament to Singapore’s vibrant retail landscape,” says Lim Kean Bon, Area Director, India, South Asia, and Africa, Singapore Tourism Board.
With touch-and-learn interactive screens, patrons could learn about popular collaborations, with the likes of Gucci and Louis Vuitton. As a subtle nod to Indian sneakerheads, shirts with SBTG’s signature boasted the tri colour palette, available to purchase only in the country. With only 24 pairs of circulation worldwide, Limited Edt also has the Foxtrot, an ASICS x SBTG collaboration. Attendees received Limited Edt merchandise, with lucky draw winners taking home full goodie bags. This immersive event wasn’t just a store launch; it kickstarted Limited Edt’s journey in India, aiming to unite like-minded individuals and pave the way for an exciting future.
