Khalistan Flag Outside Himachal Pradesh Assembly : CM Jairam Thakur Promises Strict Action ; AAP Slams BJP

In a incident that has caused a stir in the political circles Khalistan flags found tied on the main gate and boundary wall of Himachal Pradesh legislative assembly in Dharamshala on Sunday morning. The incident has left the ruling BJP red- faced.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur has condemned the act and said that strict action will be taken against the people behind it.

“Condemn cowardly act of putting up Khalistan flags at gate of Dharamshala assembly complex. Only winter session is held in this assembly, so there’s a need for more security arrangements here during that time. Incident will be probed and strict action will be taken,’ said the Himachal Pradesh CM.

“It might have happened late night or early morning today (Sunday). We have removed the Khalistan flags from the Vidhan Sabha gate. It could be an act of some tourists from Punjab. We are going to register a case,” said superintendent of police, Kangra, Khushal Sharma.

“We are inquiring about the matter and a case will be registered under relevant sections of the Himachal Pradesh Open Places (Prevention of Disfigurement) Act, 1985. This is like a wake-up call for us to work with more alertness,” said sub-divisional magistrate of Dharamshala, Shilpi Beakta.

The BJP was left red faced as AAP slammed the government , Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia tweeted , “Entire BJP is trying to save one goon (Tajinder Singh Bagga) and Khalistani left there (HP assembly with flags. Khalistani flags were put on the Legislative Assembly. How will a government that cannot save the Legislative Assembly save the people? This is a matter of respect for Himachal Pradesh. It is a matter of security of the country. The BJP government has completely failed.”
