Despite a brilliant 57 off 30 balls with six fours and two sixes from skipper Virat Kohli, the Royal Challengers Bangalore lost to Rajasthan Royals by 19 runs in a high scoring game. Leg- spinner Shreyas Gopal did the star turn for the Royals with an impressive 2/ 22 spell.
He bagged the prized wickets of Virat Kohli and A B De Villiers ( 20) . As the hosts finished at 198 for 6 while chasing the massive Royals target of 217 for 4. . Mandeep Singh (42, 25b, 6×4, 1×6) , Washington Sundar (35, 19, 1×4, 3×6) were tried their best but the asking rate was too tough . Ajinkya Rahane was astute with his captaincy, making fine bowling changes and smart field placings. He kept his cool even Kohli was on the rampage.

After Rahane had showed the way, Sanju Samson, just took it ahead with a scintillating batting display and power hitting. Samson hit a blistering under 92 of 45 balls ( 10 sixes and 2 fours) and helped Royals put an impressive 217 for 4 in their 20 overs. It was daunting target which proved to be enough at the end. It was the second win for the Royals while it was second defeat in three games for the RCB.
