After a humiliating first match loss by 101 runs, South Africa bounced back in style to win the second T20I against India at Mullunpur by 51 runs to level the five- match series at 1-1.
Earlier India Skipper SKY Won the toss and opted to field first . South Africa lost opener Reeza Hendricks early for 8 . Skipper Aiden Markram scored 29 , Dewald Brevis ( 14) .
Thanks to a brilliant innings at the top from Quinton de Kock who was unlucky too not to get to a well deserved hunded 90 ( 46 balls, 5 fours 7 sixes) and perfect finishing towards the end by Donovan Ferreira not out 30 ( 16 balls , 1 four, 3 sixes) and seasoned David Miller not out 20 ( 12 balls, 2 fours . 1 six) saw South Africa finish strongly at 213/4 in their 20 overs.
India bowling just fell apart. Arshdeep Singh had a horror match conceding as many a seven wides in a over. An unlike Arshdeep show 0/54 ( 4 overs) , Jasprit Bumrah’s famed yorkers were off target 0/45 ( 4 overs) , Varun Chakaravarthy 2/29 ( 4 overs) , Axar Patel 1/27 ( 3 overs) , Hardik Pandya 0/34 ( 3 overs) , Shivam Dube 0/18 ( 2 overs)
Chasing a big total, India began poorly with Shubman Gill out early again for 0 . His place in T20I now been questioned after repeated failures. Abhishek Sharma out for 17 off 8 balls. Axar Patel promoted up scored a run a ball 21 ,Suryakumar Yadav out for just 5.

Fortunately for India Tilak Varma rose to the challenge and scored a fine 62 ( 34 balls, 2 fours, 5 sixes) , Hardik Pandya was out for a struggling 20 , Jitesh Sharma was out for 27 , Shivam Dube 1 . India chase was in tatters as South Africa rocked India with regular wickets and tight fielding . Arshdeep Singh ( 4),Varun Chakaravarthy ( 0), Jasprit Bumrah not out 0. India were bowled out by a sharp Proteas bowling eforrt for 162/10 in 19.1 overs.
South African bowlers would be pleased with the effort put in. The relief post match said it all. Ottneil Baartman was pick of bowlers with fine figures 4/24 ( 4 overs) . Lungi Ngidi 2/26 ( 3.1 overs), Marco Jansen 2/25 ( 4 overs) , Lutho Sipamla 2/46 ( 4 overs) , Donovan Ferreira 0/14 ( 1 over) , George Linde 0/23 ( 3 overs)
