#INDvENG-3rdODI-2025 : Shubman Gill Hits Ton As India Warm Up Nicely For Champions Trophy, Thrash England By 142 Runs

India warmed up nicely for the Champions Trophy beginning on February 19 as they beat England by 142 runs at Ahmedabad in the third ODI of the three-match ODI series.  Thus clinching the series 3-0 . They had won the T20I series by an emphatic 4-1 margin

Earlier , England won the toss and opted to bowl first . India were rocked early with last match centurion , Skipper Rohit Sharma out for just 1. Superstar Virat Kohli finally gave people reasons to smile as he showed his class and scored an important 52 ( 55 balls, 7 fours, 1 six) . Deputy Shubman Gill was sublime as he smashed a fluent 112 ( 102 balls, 14 fours, 3 sixes) .

Shreyas Iyer made the most in his come-back striking a fine 78 ( 64 balls, 8 fours 2 sixes), K L Rahul looked good in his ( 40) . Hardik Pandya ( 17) , Axar Patel ( 13) , Washington Sundar ( 14) , Harshit Rana ( 13) chipped in with runs from lower order as Indi finished at 356/ 10 in their 50 overs.

England bowlers took wickets but gave aplenty. Saqib Mahmood 1/ 68 (10 overs) Mark Wood 2/ 45 ( 9 overs) ,Gus Atkinson 1/ 74 ( 8 overs), Joe Root 1/ 47 ( 5 overs) , Adil Rashid 4/ 64 ( 10 overs) . Liam Livingstone 0/ 57 ( 8 overs)

In reply , England  gave  hint of chasing with a n explosive start  60 in just 6. 2 overs by openers  , Phil Salt ( 23)   and Ben Duckett ( 34), Tom Banton kept the momentum going with 38 . After trio fell . The Rest of the batting line- up found the chase a stiff one and only succumb – Joe Root ( 24 ) , Harry Brook ( 19) , Skipper Jos Buttler ( 6), Liam Livingstone ( 9) fell in quick succession. The  chase well and truly over. Gus Atkinson played cameo of 38 as England  were bowled out for 214/ 10 ( 34. 2 overs) . Handing India a massive win by 142 runs.
