The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jay Shah has confirmed that Team India would tour South Africa, but only for a three-Test series and three ODIs.
The four T20Is, which were also originally part of the tour fixture, has now been postponed.
“BCCI has confirmed CSA that the Indian team will travel for three Tests and three ODIs. The remaining four T20Is will be played at a later date,” Shah told ANI.
India Test ODI skipper Virat Kohli while addressing the media on the eve of the second and final Test against New Zealand in Mumbai from spoke on the South Africa tour .
“We have been talking to the BCCI. We need to have more clarity, and hopefully, in next couple of days we will know more. Rahul (Dravid) bhai (coach) has spoken to all senior players. It is important that we are not left in a confused situation or spot,” Kohli said.
He added, “We are not playing in normal times anyway. We have spoken to all the members of the squad.”
The tour will now start on December 17.
