The BCCI have announced the Indian team for the tour of South Africa. In a major decision that was on the on the cards the The All-India Senior Selection Committee also decided to name Rohit Sharma as the Captain of the ODI & T20I teams going forward. This is a significant change in Indian cricket under new Head coach Rahul Dravid.

Rohit had earlier replaced Virat as India’s T20I skipper after Virat Kohli decided to step down after the T20 World Cup 2021 In UAE.
Rohit also replaces out off form Ajinkya Rahane as India’s Test vice Captain . Virat Kohli now remains Test skipper.
In the test squad of 18 named there was no surprises . The players who were rested for the New Zealand series come back . The likes of Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah . Despite pooer form selectors kept faith in Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane, and most experienced fast bowler Ishant Sharma.
