Putting behind their bitter past Samajwadi party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav who stunned all by endorsing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and wished his return as Prime Minister , today shared stage at a rally in mainpuri with his arch rival, BSP’s Mayawati.
Former Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav too was present on the historic day of BSP – SP alliance rally.
Hitting out at the BJP, Mayawati, said : “I appeal to you that you should ensure that BJP does not return to power…they will use religion to entice you but I appeal to you that you should not fall for their lies…the sense that I get from the last two phases of elections is that BJP’s condition has worsened.”
Mulayam Singh yadav tells the people that he is happy to share stage with mayawati after so many years . “This is the last time I stand in front of you, the people of Mianpur to appeal for votes. Give us your love and respect once again. Respect a strong leader like Mayawati,” says Mulayam Singh Yadav. “From time to time Mayawati has supported us and appealed for votes on our behalf,. We are grateful to her,” he said.
All eyes are now the mahagathbandhan in Uttar Pradesh with SP – BSP- RLD. It remains to be seen if they can upset the BJP dominance or reduce BJP from their 2014 high of 73 Lok Sabha seats.
