In a stern action for their reprehensible comments on women on TV show Koffee with Karan, all rounder Hardik Pandya and opening batsman K L Rahul have been suspended . Hence the duo will miss the ODI series against Australia.
According to media reports quoting a senior BCCI l : “It’s confirmed. The duo are being sent back. If they can book tickets then tomorrow they will be leaving (for India) or latest by day after”.
Pandya and Rahul will now be the subject of an enquiry as per the new BCCI constitution, where Rule 40 states: “The BCCI shall appoint an Ombudsman at the Annual General Meeting for the purpose of providing an independent dispute resolution mechanism. The Ombudsman shall be retired Judge of the Supreme Court or a retired Chief Justice of the High Court so appointed by the BCCI after obtaining his/her consent and on terms as determined by the BCCI in keeping with the dignity and stature of the office.”
Their remarks on the show were also condemned by India captain Virat Kohli, who called them inappropriate and asserted that the side does not stand by “those individual opinions”.
