Senior Congress leader and former Finance Minister P Chidambaram in as series of tweets have asked the government to allow the migrants to travel to their home sates after may 3 under strict conditions of health safety. The date when the second phase of the lockdown is due to end.
Lakhs of migrant workers were left stranded following the lockdown announcement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 24 . The first phase was till April 14. But due to the rising number of cases , the Prime Minister after meeting with all chief ministers decided to extend the lockdown to another two weeks till May 3.
