Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference president Farooq Abdullah has reacted angrily towards Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent statement that Article 370 is temporary .
Hitting back at Shah, Farooq Abdullah said that if Article 370 of the Indian Constitution is temporary then India’s accession of Jammu and Kashmir is also temporary.
While speaking to reporters, the National Conference president said, “If Art 370 is temporary then our accession is also temporary, when Maharaja acceded, it was temporary.” He further added that plebiscite was promised at the time of accession, but it did not take place.
Abdullah stated, “Was said at that time that a plebiscite will happen & people will decide whether to go with India or Pakistan, so if that didn’t happen, then how can they remove Art 370?”
