Before the match got under way it was expected to be tight contest between the third placed Royal Challengers Bangalore and fourth placed Kolkata Knight Riders. But the match turned out to be completely one- sided one as the Royal Challengers Bangalore came out with a solid all- round show to crush KKR by 8 wickets in Abu Dhabi .
Electing to bat after KKR skipper Eoin Morgan won the toss the KKR batting which has let them down in so many matches refused to learn from their mistakes . And the result batting collapse yet again. The top order is huge concern Shubman Gill , Rahul Tripathi, Nitish Rana have flopped . Dinesh Karthik barring one or two matches has failed. Eoin Moran has been left alone to repair the damage. The top order figures tell the sorry story – Shubman Gill ( 1), Rahul Tripathi ( 1), Nitish Rana ( 0), Dinesh Karthik ( 4) , Tom Banton ( 10), Eoin Morgan ( 30), Pat Cummins (4) , Kuldeep Yadav ( 12, Lockie Ferguson ( 19) . It was a horrendous batting show . The KKR total was a dismal 84/ 8 in their twenty overs.
For RCB the bowling was spot on, Mohammed Siraj was outstanding with figures of 3/ 8 ( 4 overs), Yuzvendra Chahal 2/ 15 ( 4 overs), Washington Sundar 1/ 14 (4 overs), Navdeep Saini 1/ 23 ( 3 overs).

Chasing double figure total, the RCB were in a hurry with openers Aaron Finch and Devdutt Padikkal. Finch looking for big score to get some form fell for 16. The Australian ODI T20 skipper is battling poor form in this tournament. Padikkal made 25 off 17 balls be fore he was run- out . Promoted up the orderGurkeerat Singh Mann not out 21 off 26 and skipper Virat Kohli not out 18 off 17 saw RCB home comfortably. RCB reaching the target 85 / 2 in 13. 3 overs.
For KKR, Lockie Ferguson 1/ 17 ( 4 overs) , Pat Cummins 0/ 18 ( 3 overs) , Prasidh Krishna 0/ 20 ( 2.3 overs), Varun Chakravarthy 0/ 28 ( 4 overs)
For KKR they need to forget this outing and look to solve their pressing problems with batting and bowling if they have wish to reach the play- offs. RCB on the other hand now have 14 points and are in certain for play- offs spot.
