The low intensity bomb blast near the Israeli Embassy in New Delhi has had it’s impact. Union Home Minister Amit Amit Shah who was scheduled to go on two day visit to West Bengal has cancelled his visit.
After the Republic Day violence and now the bomb blast outside Israeli embassy, Shah is facing heat from the opposition. Congress’ communication in- charge and chief spokesperson , Randeep Singh Surjewala, trained his guns directly at the Government for the 26th January violence , saying that there was a concerted effort to dilute the farmer’s agitation by maligning and defaming them. Surjewala called Amit Shah the weakest Home Minister and sought his resignation for failing to contain the violence and lack of intelligence on criminal elements who infiltrated into the protest.
Shah was scheduled to start his state tour from Mayapur Chandrodaya Temple of International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), and later he had to address the Matua community at a public rally at the Thakurbari ground in Parganas district, as per BJP officials.
On the second day of his visit on January 31, the home minister was scheduled to visit Sri Aurobindo Bhawan in Kolkata and then to Bharat Sevashram Sangha in Rash Behari Avenue in Kolkata.
He was also scheduled to address a public meeting at Dumurjola in Howrah after which he had to visit Belur Math.
