The Election Commission has sought a report from the Delhi Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) on a tweet posted by Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Kapil Mishra who had termed the anti-CAA protest sites in the national capital “mini-Pakistan” and said the upcoming assembly elections will be a contest “on Delhi roads between India and Pakistan”.

Speaking to CNN-News18 about the EC action against him, BJP’s Kapil Mishra says that he is unperturbed of the consequences. “I will reply to the EC notice. I am not worried about speaking the truth. I am standing on a firm foot and am certain that my candidature will not be canceled,” he said.
