Ever since Rahul Gandhi had taken over as Congress president the , three was clarion calls for reconstituting the highest decision making body – CWC i.e. the Congress working committee. Finally after months of endless speculations the change has finally happened .
The party now moves into the Rahul Gandhi era and the induction of youth along with that of experience are the highlights of the rejig.
The new Congress Working Committee (CWC) includes 23 members, 19 permanent invitees and 9 special invitees, highly-placed sources said. Independent in-charges appointed for various states will be among the permanent invitees to the working committee as ex-officio members, while the heads of five frontal organisations of the party—INTUC, Sewa Dal, Youth Congress, Mahila Congress and NSUI—will be part of the special invitees.
This the first CWC formed by the Congress chief after assuming charge of the party. The 22 July meeting will be of an ‘extended working committee’ as Rahul has also invited all state unit presidents and Congress Legislative party leaders from states.
The party on its twitter handle released the new list.
