West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee handed over a cheque of Rs 5 lakh to the kin of those killed in the Birbhum violence. Financial aid of Rs 2 lakh will be given for reconstructing affected houses. Families of the people who died in the fire will be given a job and Rs 5 lakh, she says.
“Suspects of the Rampurhat killings will have to be hunted down and arrested unless they surrender. Police will ensure strictest punishment is handed out to the culprits responsible for the carnage. A case filed before court should be water-tight,” Mamata Banerjee said.
The CM reached Bogtui village, where eight people were burnt alive earlier this week, and spoke with the family members of those killed.
