Stepping up its attack on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government over its failure to control the fuel prices that is rising every day, a s many as 21 parties lead by Congress started a nationwide protest.
Congress president Rahul Gandhi joined the protests after returning from his Kailash Mansarovar yatra. The Congress president began the protest by visiting Rajghat and paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi. He offered holy water from the pilgrimage there.
At Jantar Mantar present on the occasion were leaders like NCP stalwart and chief Sharad Pawar, former Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, LJD leader Sharad Yadav, CPI( M ) Leader Sitram Yechury.
Congress president Rahul Gandhi hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and questioned his silence on rising fuel prices , condition of farmers and atrocities on women. He said a united opposition can get rid of the BJP.
Earlier Former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh too lashed out at the current dispensation. He said the government has many things that were not in the interest of the nation but now it has crossed all limits. He said the time to change the government will come soon.
