After pace duo of Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav were out of the remaining Test series with injuries , team India has been jolted by yet another injury. This time it is batsman K L Rahul with wrist injury ahead of the third Test in Sydney . Thus adding to team India’s injury woes in the series. The team is without regular skipper Virat Kohli who is on paternity leave.
“KL Rahul sprained his left wrist while batting in the nets at the MCG during Team India’s practice session on Saturday,” the Indian cricket board (BCCI) said in a statement.
“The wicketkeeper-batsman will not be available for the remaining two Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy as he will need about three weeks time to recover completely and regain full strength.”
The series is level with 1-1. Australia winning in Adelaide by eight wickets, India bounced back from the 36 all- out horror to win at Melbourne by 8 wickets under the innovative and calm stand in skipper Ajinkya Rahane.
