Union Minister Arun Jaitley , who is in US for treatment in a tweet fondly remembered George Fernandes. The former Defence Minister and the convenor of the NDA in the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee government passed away at the age of 88 after prolonged illness.

His parliamentary career spanned many decades and his speeches delivered in the house and outside had immediate connect with the people. He guided many ministries as Union Minister & contributed immensely to nation building. The nation will miss George Saheb.
