Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hailed the results of the elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh as indicative of “strong support for politics of good governance and development.” He was addressing party workers at the BJP HQ in the capital after the results from the two states had come in.

“I salute the hardworking BJP Karyakartas in these states for their hardwork which has led to these impressive victories,” tweeted PM Modi, in his first reaction to the developments. In aseries of tweets he expressed his happiness over the results.
He also assured the people of the two states that his party would leave “no stone unturned” in serving them and “furthering the development journey.”
