Indian athletes put up a creditable show at the Asian Games. And their effort did not go in vain. India’s Muhammed Anas finished 2nd in the men’s 400m final, clocking a time of 45.69s. While compatriot Rajiv Arokia finishes 4th with a timing of 45.84s.
Further , India’s new sprint sensation , Hima Das has done the nation proud . The sprinter from Nagaon, Assam won a creditable silver in the 400metres finals . In superb display she finished just behind Bahrain’s Silwa Nasa to finish second in the 400m final.
The reigning World Youth Champion, Hima clocked a timing of 50.79. She on the way broke the National record. Another Indian runner Nirmla Sheoren finished 4th with a timing of 50.96.
The fine showing by athletes has now lifted India’s medal tally the on- going games. It now stands at 36. India has as of now won 7 Gold , 9 Silver and 20 Bronze Medals.
