Rajasthan Royals  powered their way to Qualifier 2 of the Tata IPL 2026 as they beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 47 runs.  The RR win was fashioned by the sensational 15- year old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and the searing pace by seamer Jofra Archer who took three top SRH wickets.

Earlier, SRH Skipper Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bowl first . RR got off to a blistering start with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi kleading the charge with sensational stroke- play.  Yashasvi Jaiswal was just  a spectator and played run a ball innings of 29 ( 4 fours). But it was the audacious batting of  Vaibhav who took the game away from SRH scoring  97 ( 29 balls , 5 fours 12 sixes) . Even against Pat Cummins, Vaibhav showed no respect taking 25 runs in an over with three sixes . 125-1, 8 overs was the total of RR when Vaibhav fell. RR were set for score around 260-270 if not more given the start. Dhruv Jurel carried on the onslaught with a 21 ball 50 ( 5 fours, 3 sixes)

But SRH somewhat pulled things back  in the middle – RR Skipper Riyan Parag 26,  Donovan Ferreira 12 , Dasun Shanaka 5 , Jofra Archer 4 , Nandre Burger 0,   Ravindra Jadeja not out 12, Sushant Mishra not out 1 . RR  eventually  finishing  at 243/8 in their 20 overs. Given the SRH batting and scoring 255 in their previous game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru the chase looked possible .

Sunrisers Hyderabad  Bowling : Pat Cummins 0/64 ( 4 overs), Eshan Malinga 1/40 ( 4 overs), Sakib Hussain 0 /52 ( 4 overs), Praful Hinge 3/54 ( 4 overs), Shivang Kumar 1/19 ( 2 overs), Nitish Kumar Reddy 1/12 ( 2 overs)

Chasing  244 would be tough and SRH soon found out . Abhishek Sharma flopped in the big game out for 0.  Travis Head’s belwo par form continued out  for  17 . Ishan Kishan showed the fight but did not last long 33 ( 11 balls 3 fours 3 sixes). All three top wickets were taken by Jofra Archer who bolwed with some sheer  pace and clocked above 150 kph.

With Big three gone SRH were in tatters .  Smaran Ravichandran too fell for  1 . SRH were reeling at 57-4, 4.4 overs. The game was almost over.  Last SRH hope Heinrich Klaasen was out to an unwanted reverse sweep at that stage for 18 leg- before.

Nitish Kumar Reddy 38 ( 20 balls 3 fours, 2 sixes) and Salil Arora 35 ( 21 balls 2 fours, 2 sixes)  delayed the inevitable with some small cameos . Pat Cummins was out for 1 , Shivang Kumar 27 ,  Eshan Malinga 5. RR got the wickets when they needed . SRH run- rate was good but too many loss of wickets derailed their chase . Sakib Hussain  not out 5 as SRH were bolwed out for  196 ( 19. 2 overs) .

Rajasthan Royals Bowling : Jofra Archer was steaming in and bowled with fire and 3/58 ( 4 overs), Nandre Burger 2/26 ( 3 overs), Brijesh Sharma 0/31 ( 3 overs), Yash Raj Punja 1/39 ( 4 overs), Sushant Mishra 2/21 ( 2.2 overs), Ravindra Jadeja 2/21 ( 3 overs)
