Bollywood’s dimpled actress Preity Zinta has turned a year older . Now 47 , the actress who made her debut In Mani Ratnam’s Dil Se opposite Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has since come a long way and had delivered several Box – Office Blockbusters in her Bollywood career. She had worked with the biggest actors in Bollywood – Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol , Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Hrithik Roshan, Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan .

Dil Se ( 1998 ) Mani Ratnam – Set in the backdrop of Insurgency in Assam, the film starred Shahrukh Khan and Manisha Koirala, while Preity Zinta made her film debut in a supporting role.
Soldier ( 1998 ) – Directed by Abbas–Mustan starring Bobby Deol, Preity Zinta and Raakhee Gulzar. The film released on 20 November 1998 and was declared as a superhit by Box Office India, becoming the 2nd highest-grossing film of the year in India. Although Soldier was Preity Zinta’s first film, Mani Ratnam’s Dil Se. ended up being released before Soldier and was thus Zinta’s film debut.
Kya Kehna ( 2000 ) – Kya Kehna dealt with the taboo issue of pre-marital pregnancy and society views on the same, and stars Preity Zinta in the central role as a single teenage mother with Saif Ali Khan, Chandrachur Singh, Farida Jalal and Anupam Kher in supporting roles. Directed by Kundan Shah.
Mission Kashmir ( 2000) – Action thriller directed and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Starring an ensemble cast of Sanjay Dutt, Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta, Sonali Kulkarni and Jackie Shroff, its screenplay was written by Suketu Mehta. The film follows the life and tragedy of a young boy named Altaaf Khan (Roshan) after his entire family is accidentally killed by police officers. He is adopted by the police chief (Dutt) who is responsible for this, and when Altaaf finds out, he seeks revenge and becomes a terrorist.
Dil Chahta Hai ( 2001) – Coming-of-age romance film written and directed by Farhan Akhtar. It was produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and released under the banner of Excel Entertainment (which Akhtar and Sidhwani co-founded), marking their cinematic debut. The film focuses on a significant transition period in the romantic lives of three college-graduate friends (Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Akshaye Khanna). It also stars Preity Zinta, Sonali Kulkarni, and Dimple Kapadia.
Chori Chori Chupke Chupke ( 2001)– romantic drama film directed by Abbas–Mustan, with screenplay and story from Javed Siddiqui and Neeraj Vora respectively. Starring Salman Khan, Rani Mukerji and Preity Zinta, the film’s music is composed by Anu Malik and lyrics are penned by Sameer. Telling the story of a married couple hiring a young prostitute as a surrogate mother, the film generated controversy during its release for dealing with the taboo issue of surrogate childbirth in India.
Hero : The Love Story Of A Spy ( 2003) – A spy thriller film directed by Anil Sharma and produced by Time Magnetics. It starred Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta and Priyanka Chopra in her Bollywood film debut. Written by Shaktimaan, the film tells the story of an undercover Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) agent who must gather intelligence about cross-border terrorism and stop the terrorist responsible for it and his separation from his finace.
Koi Mil Gaya ( 2003) – Directed and produced by Rakesh Roshan. It starred Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta, with Rekha in a supporting role. Koi… Mil Gaya focuses on Rohit (Hrithik Roshan), a developmentally disabled man who contacts an extraterrestrial being with his late father Sanjay’s (Rakesh Roshan) computer. The film follows his relationship with Nisha (Zinta), Rohit’s friend, who falls in love with him.
Kal Ho Naa Ho ( 2003) – The film starred Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Preity Zinta, with Sushma Seth, Reema Lagoo, Lillete Dubey, and Delnaaz Paul in supporting roles. It tells the story of Naina Catherine Kapur, a pessimistic and uptight MBA student, living in New York City. She falls in love with her neighbour Aman Mathur, a terminally ill patient who tries to set Naina up with her best friend Rohit Patel, since he fears she will grieve for him if he reciprocates her feelings.
Veer Zaara ( 2004) – Directed by legendary Yash Chopra, who co-produced it with his son Aditya Chopra. It stars Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta as the eponymous star-crossed lovers: Veer Pratap Singh (Khan) is an Indian Air Force officer, and Zaara Hayaat Khan (Zinta) is the daughter of a Pakistani politician. Veer is imprisoned on false charges, and a young Pakistani lawyer, named Saamiya Siddiqui (Rani Mukherji), fights his case. Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Divya Dutta, Manoj Bajpayee, Boman Irani, Anupam Kher and Kirron Kher play supporting roles.
Lakshya ( 2004 ) – Directed by Farhan Akhtar and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, starring Hrithik Roshan, Amitabh Bachchan and Preity Zinta in the lead roles. Hrithik Roshan plays the role of Lieutenant (later acting Captain) Karan Shergill, who develops from an aimless young man into an army officer. It is a coming of age story set against a fictionalized backdrop of the 1999 Kargil War.
Salaam Namaste ( 2005 ) – The film stars Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta in their fourth film together. Arshad Warsi, Tania Zaetta and Jugal Hansraj appear in supporting roles. Released on 9 September 2005, it was the first Indian movie to be filmed entirely in Australia.
The film tells the story of two young and modern Indians, Nick and Ambar, who have left their homes to make a life on their own in Melbourne, Australia. The story follows one year of their lives, dealing with their problems and relationships, from their first meeting at a wedding ceremony, to their decision to move in together without marriage, to their break-up upon discovering that Ambar is pregnant. It was directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Aditya Chopra and Yash Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner.
Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna ( 2006) – The film starred Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Preity Zinta and Kirron Kher. Set and mostly taking place in New York City, the film explores themes of adultery. The title was promoted with the tag-line “A Love… That Broke All Relationships”.
Off the field , a cricket fan, Preity Zinta is also a co- owner of the Indian Premier League team Punjab Kings.
