#TokyoOlympics : Indian Women’s Hockey Team Pull Off Stunning Upset, Beat Australia 1-0, Face Argentina In Semis

Pulling off a big upset in the tournament a gritty Indian women’s hockey team riding on Gurjit Kaur’s strike shocked Australia in the hockey quarter-finals at the Tokyo Olympics on Monday.

The Olympics has turned out to be a  dream so far as Indian hockey is concerned with both men’s and women’s team in semis assuring the nation a medal .

Player of the match Kaur scored the winner in the 22nd deflections off a penalty corner as India’s women advanced to the semi-finals for the first time.

The Indian women hockey team’s best finish came at the 1980 Olympics in Moscow when they finished fourth among six teams.

In the semi-finals, they will take on Argentina, who scored a 3-0 win over Germany.
