#TATAIPL-2024-69 : Abhishek Sharma’s Blitz Helps Sunrisers Hyderabad Crush Punjab Kings By 4 Wickets

Sunrisers Hyderabad once again showed their batting prowess as they chased own a big target set by Punjab Kings by 4 wickets in a Tata IPL 2024 encounter at Hyderabad .

Punjab Skipper Jitesh Sharma leading ( in the  absence of Sam Curran  who returned home  along with Jonny Bairstow, Liam Livingstone for International  national team Duty )  won the toss and opted to bat first . The kings began positively  with openers  – Atharva Taide 46 ( 27 balls 5 fours 2 sixes) and  impressive Prabhsimran Singh 71 ( 45 balls, 7 fours, 4 sixes) . The duo put on 97-1, 9.1 overs.

Rilee Rossouw kept  the attack with an an aggressive 49 ( 24 balls 3 fours , 4 sixes)   , Shashank Singh was run-out ( 2) . Ashutosh Sharma (2). Skipper Jitesh Sharma played an important cameo and unbeaten one 32  ( 15 balls , 2 fours , 2 sixes ) as Punjab finished on an impressive 214/ 5 in their 20 overs .  Shivam Singh was other not out batsman on 2

SRH bowling :  Bhuvneshwar Kumar 0/ 36 ( 4 overs), Pat Cummins 1/ 36 ( 4 overs)  T Natarajan  2/ 36 ( 4 overs) , Vijayakanth Viyaskanth 1/ 37 ( 4 overs) , Shahbaz Ahmed 0/ 13 ( 1 over) , Nitish Reddy was expensive 0/ 54( 3 overs)

In the chase. SRH lost Travis  Head early for ( 0) a rare failure .  But in- from Abhishek Sharma blasted  the team on track  with a blistering match- winning knock 66 ( 28 balls ,  5 fours, 6 sixes), well supported by Rahul Tripathi who played for his 33 ( 18 balls , 4 fours , 2 sixes) .

SRH batting clicked with all contributing  Nitish Reddy 37 ( 25 balls, 1 four, 3 sixes), Heinrich Klaasen batted his  way back to some form ahead of ply – offs with 42 ( 26 balls   , 3 fours 2 sixes) . SRH were on course .  Shahbaz Ahmed  was out for  3 .

But  taking SRH home with five  balls to spare  and four wickets in hand were – Abdul Samad ( 11) not out and Sanvir Singh not out 6 . SRH finishing  at 215 / 6 in 19. 1 overs .
