India once again made a mockery of the so called biggest rivalry as they thrashed Pakistan by 61 Runs in Colombo in the much talked about encounter  opf the ICC T20  2026 World Cup . The win also saw defending champions India power their way to the Super 8s.

As has been the norm between the two sides with no handshake Pakistan Skipper  Salman Agha won the toss and opted to bowl first with a a spin heavy bowling line-up.

India got off to a  horror start with Abhishek Sharma dismissed yet again for 0.  But that did not deter Ishan Kishan to hold back his aggressive game. The left- hander was in blazing mood and literally took the game away from Pakistan. Ishan’s knock  was  the diffrence at the end of the match  . The innings was a special one . Ishan was unstoppable as he raced to a game changing inning of 77 ( 40 balls, 10 fours, 3 sixes). Ishan onslaught demoralised Pakistan.

Other Indian batsmen found the going tough . Tilak Varma ( 25), Skipper Suryakumar Yadav ( 32) , Hardik Pandya ( 0), Shivam Dube ( 27) , Rinku Singh not out 11, Axar Patel ( 0). Thanks to Ishan blitz India reached 175/7 in their 20 overs.

Pakistan bowlers one thought did well to restrict India . Salman Agha 1/10 ( 2 overs) , Shaheen Afridi 1/31 ( 2 overs) struggled with line and length. Saim Ayub 3/25 ( 4 overs) was brilliant and unlucky to miss out a hat-trick. Abrar Ahmed 0/38 ( 3 overs), Shadab Khan 0/17 ( 1 over), Mohammad Nawaz 0/28 ( 4 overs), in the spotlight with action  Usman Tariq 1/24 ( 4 overs)

Chasing 175, Pakistan were on the back-foot straight away losing early wickets showing bizzrare match sense and poor shot slection by their batting line – up .  The start was never there .  The power play total of 13/3 the game was over there and then . Openers Sahibzada Farhan  ( 0),  Saim Ayub ( 6)  Skipper Salman Agha ( 4) god knows wht prompted him to play that horrendous shot at that time  when Pakistan lost two early wickets.

Over hyped  Babar Azam out yet another no shot for ( 5). Usman Khan waged a lone battle to score  44 . The rest flopped  , Shadab Khan ( 14) , Mohammad Nawaz ( 4), Pak wickets were falling like nine pins much to the disappointment of their fans. Faheem Ashraf ( 10) , Abrar Ahmed ( 0), Shaheen Shah  Afridi not out 23 , Usman Tariq ( 0). Pakistan all- out for  114/10 in 18 overs.
