#ENGvIND-2ndT20I-2026: Jacob Bethell Not Out 76, Sam Curran’s 3/33 Help England Beat India By 4 Wickets ; Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Makes Much Awaited International Debut With 14 Runs

After the first match of the five- match T20 series between India and England saw no result due to rain, the battle between the two sides resumed at Manchester . And England  in the second T20I  drew first blood and took a 1-0 lead with a  four-wicket over India .

Ealier India Skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bat. And big news was  that  15- year old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi became India’s youngest Inetrnational  player beating the record held by Sachin Tendulkar for long time .

Coming in place of Sanju Samson , Vaibhav Sooryavanshi with so much hype around him could score only 14 ( 10 balls 2 sixes). Fellow opener Abhishek Sharma was unfazed as he blasted 43 ( 24 balls 8 fours 1 six) , Ishan Kishan gave the innings the momentum with 49 ( 40 balls  6 fours) , Skipper Shreyas Iyer scored 37 ( 22 balls , 3 fours, 1 six), Shivam Dube fell for 5.

Deputy Tilak Varma ensured India finished well and with score for the bolwers to defend . Varma played a nice unbeaten cameo  24 ( 11  balls, 1 four, 2 sixes). Axar patel 2, Harshit rana 6 as India ended with 190/7 in their 20 overs.

England Bowling : Sam Curran led the attack well with 3/33 ( 4 overs) , Jofra Archer 1/40 ( 4 overs), Josh Tongue 0/46 ( 4 overs), Will Jacks 1/22 ( 3 overs), Liam Dawson 1/27 ( 3 overs), Adil Rashid 0/21 ( 2 overs)

Chasing 191 for win England were rocked early by Arshdeep Singh who took both the openers – Philip Salt and Jos Buttler without disturbing the scorers for 0 . England captain Harry Brook unfazed by early blows played his aggressive game and put England on track with 390 ( 15 balls 4 fours, 3 sixes) . Tom Banton too played an important knock 39 ( 32 balls 6 fours) to put England on course .


The match- winning innings for the three lions came from the young Jacob Bethell . Bethell was fluent and aggressive and blasted a fine unbeaten 76 ( 45 balls with 5 fours, 5 sixes). It was the knock that made the diffrence at the end . Will Jacks 7 and Sam Curran 9 fell later but England were in control . Jofra Archer was not out 10 at the end and saw Enmgland home along with Bethell. England reaching 191/6 in 19 overs.
