Election Commission Ruling : Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP Recognised As A National Party ; TMC, CPI, NCP Lose Tag

In a major move ahead of 2024 Lok Sabha Polls, The Election Commission of India has recognised Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party as a national party.

In another move, the Election Commission has derecognised the Communist Party of India and Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress as national parties.

The EC also withdrew the state party status of RLD in Uttar Pradesh. Revolutionary Socialist Party derecognised as a state party in West Bengal.

Voice of the People Party gets recognition as a state party in Meghalaya.

Further, Election Commission of India withdrew the national party status of NCP. Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) gets recognition as a state party in Nagaland.

Tipra Motha Party gets recognition as a state party in Tripura. BRS derecognised as a state party in Andhra Pradesh.
