Now that the Supreme Court in a historic unanimous judgment headed by CJI Ranjan Gogoi has given its verdict and paving the way for the grand Ram Temple at Ayodhya. There is one leader who will cherish this verdict more than anyone else. It is the patriarch of the BJP and the leader who made the BJP what it is today – Lal Krishna Advani.

Call it destiny or sheer co-incidence the Supreme Court gave the Ayodhya verdict the day after the Advani, the BJP stalwart celebrated his 92nd birthday.

In a statement, while ‘wholeheartedly’ welcoming the judgment, Advani said :”I stand vindicated, and feel deeply blessed, that the Supreme Court has given its unanimous verdict paving the way for the construction of a magnificent temple for Lord Ram at Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya,’

It was L K Advani’s Rath Yatra that gave the impetus to the Ram Temple movement in Ayodhya and put the party BJP in the forefront to galvanise the hindu cause . He started this famous Ram Rath yatra from Somnath In Gujarat on 25the September 1990 to Ayodhya October 30, 1990 . The yatra though was later stopped in Bihar and he was arrested in Samastipur by then Bihar chief Minister Lalu Yadav on the order of then Prime Minister Minister VP Singh . The arrest not many knew would dramatically change narrative of country’s politics  in the coming days.

In his engrossing autobiography , My Country My Life , Advani wrote about the Ayodhya movement saying : “ I regard the Ayodhya movement as the most decisive transformational event of my political journey . As every student of India’s contemporary history will attest to , its impact on our society and polity – indeed , on our sense of national identity – has been tremendous. Destiny made me perform a certain pivotal duty in this movement, in the form of the Ram Rath Yatra from Somnath to Ayodhya in 1990. I performed the duty with conviction , sincerity and to the best of my abilities and, in doing so discovered India anew while rediscovering myself . The Ayodhya mission for me was thus both a time of intense action and intense inner reflection.”

In the Modi- Shah era of the BJP, Advani has no role (placed in Margdarshak Mandal) to play or his voice hardly matter . It is a fact and very much seen. But BJP would always deny.

However, with this Ayodhya judgement where Advani played such a colossal role one can clearly say it that verdict for the Ram Temple is Advani’s finest hour in his incredible political career.
