TMC Rocked By Dissent : Mamata Banerjee Faces Heat As Three MLA’s Quit Party
The battle for West Bengal 2021 has it seems have begun early. The ruling Trinamool Congress of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has been rocked by dissent and party MLA’s quitting the party.
After Suvendu Adhikari , Former TMC Asansol district Chief Jitendra Tiwari too quit the party. Tiwari, who is among several party leaders to turn rebel recently, resigned from the post of chairman of the administrative board of the Asansol Municipal Corporation, yesterday. He represents Pandaveswar in the West Bengal Assembly and has claimed that the Mamata Banerjee-led government has not given the region its fair share of development funds.
Addressing the party workers , Jitendra Tiwari said, “We have been deprived of the smart city. We have also been deprived of the solid waste management system. Asansol has been deprived of many development works.”
Trinamool MLA Shilbhadra Dutta quit this morning in the third exit in two days, reinforcing worries for Bengal’s ruling party ahead of polls just five months away. Yesterday, Suvendu Adhikari and Jitendra Tiwari handed in their resignations.
