#TATAIPL2022 : Match 67 : Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell Stand Tall In RCB’s 8 Wicket Win Over Gujarat Titans, Keeps Them In The Hunt For Play- Offs

Royal Challengers Bangalore kept their play- offs hopes alive as they beat table- toppers Gujarat Titans by 8 wickets in the 67th match of the Tata IPL 2022.

After GY skipper Hardik Pandya chose to bat , it managed to score 168/ 5 in their 20 overs . RCB bowlers kept the batsmen under check and it saw scores like Wriddhiman Saha (31) , Shubman Gill ( 1) out to a brilliant catch By Glenn Maxwell at slips off Josh Hazelwood. Matthew Wade ( 16) . Skipper Hardik Pandya once again came out with a fine innings . This time a unbeaten 62 (47 balls, 4 fours, 3 sixes), David Miller(25),Rahul Tewatia ( 2) , and Rashid Khan not out (19) scored important towards the end but the big finish never came .

In reply , GT ran into a fired up Virat Kohli and a gritty Faf du Plessis . The RCB opening duo rode on some luck to post their best opening partnership of the season putting on 115 for the first wicket when du Plessis fell for 38 ball 44 with five fours. Virat kohli on the other hand was pumped up and roared back to some form that he known for and smashed his way to a superb 54 ball 73 (8 fours,2 sixes) . Much to the delight of the crowd who were chanting Kohli, Kohli . Glenn Maxwell came out with a mission to wrap things early after Kohli was out as he belligerent in his unbeaten 18 ball 40 ( 5 fours a, 2 sixes), and in company of Dinesh Karthik ( 2 not out) RCB powered home to reach 170/ 2 in 18.4 overs. Rashid Khan for GT bagged both the wickets.

By virtue of this win, RCB moved to fourth place in the standings with 16 points but will have to wait for the Delhi Capitals-Mumbai Indians game on Saturday to know their fate. A loss for Delhi would ensure RCB a play-off berth.
