#TATAIPL-2026-69 : Jofra Archer Produces A Super All-Round Show To Power Rajasthan Royals Into The Play-Offs ; To Play SRH In The Eliminator

Rajasthan Royals in must win game powered by all- round  show by Jofra Archer beat Mumbai Indians by 30 runs to enter  the play- Off of the Tata IPL 2026.

The RR win meant Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders were knocked out of the tourtnament. RR will now play Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator on May 27 ..

Earlier,   MI won the toss and opted to field on a brutal hot and humid day at Wankhede, Mumbai . RR did not get off to the flying start they had so far in the season.  Yashasvi Jaiswal did the bulk of the scoring in the power play with a quick 27 ( 17 balls , 1 four, 3 sixes). MI bolwers bowled to a plan for the 15- year old Yashasvi Jaiswal and it worked as he fell for just 4 off 6 balls faced. RR wre struggling at 33-2, 4.1 overs.

RR Skipper Riyan Parag showed intent straight away  but his innings diod not last long out for 14 . RR 54- 3 in 6 overs. Dhruv Jurel battled hard for his 38 ( 28 balls , 3 fours, 2 sixes). Sri Lankan  Dasun Shanaka looked good for his 29 ( 15 balls , 3 sixes) before he was unfortunately run- out in  a mix up with Jurel. Donovan Ferreira could not do much damage oyut for 18 ,  Shubham Dubey 5 .

But the most cricial runs for RR came from Jofra Archer , promoted to number 7, Archer played a nice cameo to give RR a chance to put on fighting total. Archer scored a vital  32 ( 15 balls 3  , sixes) . Ravindra Jadeja not out 19 ( 11 balls 3 fours) and Nandre Burger not out 10 ( 3 balls 1 six) saw RR finish strongly with a challenging total of 205/8 in their 20 overs.

Mumbai Indians Bowling :  Deepak Chahar 2/43 ( 4 overs), Will Jacks 1/12 ( 2 overs), AM Ghazanfar 1/45 ( 3 overs), Raghu Sharma 0/25 ( 3 overs), Shardul Thakur 2/41 ( 4 overs) had a nice banter with Ravindra Jadeja in the middle . Corbin Bosch 1/38 ( 4 overs)

In reply , MI were rocked early by the sheer pace of Jofra Archer who earlier had shone with the bat  . Archer sent back Rohit Sharma for 0 and Naman Dir  for 6  in a fiery spell . Ryan Rickelton fel for 12 . MI innings were tottering at 24-3, 3.2 overs. Tilak Varma alos did not last long out for 3. Will Jacks scored 33 .

MI Skipper Hardik Pandya out of touch for whole season showed some of his old  stuff scoring 34 ( 15  balls , 3 fours, 2 sixes) before he fell to Archer .

Struggling for form and only scoring his second fifty of the season Suryakumar Yadav finally  ended the tournament with 60 ( 42 balls , 3 fours, 4 sixes). Regular wickets hurt MI chase . Corbin Bosch out for 2 , Deepak Chahar 8 . Shardul Thakur not out 10 and AM Ghazanfar not out 2 were at the end as MI could score only 175/9 in their 20 overs. RR winning by 30 runs.
