Experianced and classy Aussie Mitchell Starc was the wrecker-in chief bagging three wickets in one over. And bagged four overall to dent RR hopes of big total. Starc clearly bowled the game changing over.

Delhi Capitals kept alive their play-offs hopes as they beat Rajasthan Royals by 5 wickets in a TataIPL 2026 encounter at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi . DC Skipper Axar Patel won the toss and opted to bowl first.
RR lost opener Yashasvi Jaiswal for 12 . 15-year old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi delighted fans with a blazing 46 ( 21 balls 5 fours, 3 sixes). Dhruv Jurel kept the momentum with a fine 53 ( 40 balls 5 fours, 2 sixes) Skipper Riyan Parag dropped on 6 by Tristan Stubbs scored an attacking 51 ( 26 balls , 3 fours, 5 sixes). RR total was when Parag fell was 160-3, 14.1 overs.
Then suddenly the RR batting collapsed . Experianced and classy Aussie Mitchell Starc was the wrecker-in chief bagging three wickets in one over. And bagged four overall to dent RR hopes of big total. Starc clearly bowled the game changing over. Donovan Ferreira 0, Ravi Singh 4 , Shubham Dubey 5, Dasun Shanaka 10 . Jofra Archer not out 2 , Adam Milne not out 2 . RR which one time threatened 220 plus or more ended up scoring 193/8 in their 20 overs.

In reply DC got off to a confident start with openers K L Rahul and Abhishek Porel. RR were guilty of dropping catches and this hurt them big. K L Rahul and Porel put DC on course with 100 run- opening stand . The duo put on 105-1, 10.1 overs. Porel was first out for 51 ( 31 balls 7 fours, 1 six), K L Rahul yet another season of 500 plus runs , showing amazing consistency scored 56 ( 42 balls 1 four, 3 sixes). There was minor jolt as Sahil Parakh 9 , Tristan Stubbs 4, and David Miller fell for 9 .
But for DC Skipper Axar Patel kept his cool and remained unbeaten on 34 ( 18 balls 2 fours, 2 sixes). Ashutosh Sharma did the finisher role to perfection hitting the match- winning six to power DC home by 5 wickets. Ashutosh was not out 18 ( 5 balls , 1 four, 2 sixes). DC finishing 197/5 in 19. 2 overs
