Powered by  a master class ton by legend Virat Kohli, Royal Challengers Bengaluru beat Kolkata Knight Riders by six wickets in rain-hit TataIPL 2026 encounter in Raipur . Earlier RCB won the toss and opted to field first .

KKR got off to slow start with Skipper Ajinkya Rahane and Finn Allen. Bot found the  going tough and could score 19, 18 respectively .  Angkrish Raghuvanshi gave the KKR innings the momentum with a fine 71 (46 balls, 7 fours, 3 sixes)   before he was run- out  . Aussie Cameron Green was out for 32 ( 24 balls , 3 fours, 1 six).

Rinku Singh provided the late fireworks with a unbeaten 49 ( 29 balls , 3 fours, 2 sixes) as KKR finished at 192 /4 in their 20 overs

RCB Bowling : Bhuvneshwar Kumar 1/34 ( 4 overs), Jacob Duffy 0/48 ( 4 overs), Josh Hazlewood 1/35 ( 4 overs), Rasikh Salam Dar 1/35 ( 4 overs), Krunal Pandya 0/39 ( 4 overs)

Chasing 193 for  a win , RCB  lost opener Jacob Bethell early for 15 with score reading (37-1, 3.2 overs.  After two disappointing outings without scoring  Virat Kohli bounced back to sublime form and blasted an unbeaten 105 ( 60 balls , 11 fours, 3 sixes) . It was another classic innings from the chase master. This was Kohli’s ninth hundred overall in the IPL .  He also became the first Indian to score 14000 runs in T20 cricket. Devdutt Padikkal  scored 39 Devdutt Padikkal (39) who forged  92-run stand with Kohli for the second wicket.

RCB  Skipper Rajat Patidar  fell cheaply for 11, Tim David 2 . Jityesh Sharma was not out with 8 and along with Kohli  and saw RCB home comnfrtable by six wickets . RCB reaching 194/4 in 19. 1 overs.

KKR Bowling : Saurabh Dubey 1/21 ( 2.1 overs), Vaibhav Arora 0/48 ( 4 overs), Kartik Tyagi 3/32 ( 4 overs), Sunil Narine 1/31 ( 4 overs), Cameron Green  0/22 (  2 overs), Anukul Roy0/36 ( 3 overs)

Defending champions RCB jumped to the top of the standings with 16 points from 12 matches, while KKR are eighth with nine points from 11 games.
