#TATAIPL-2026-5 : Sameer Rizvi, Tristan Stubbs , Lungi Ngidi, T Natarajan Shine For Delhi Capitals In Their 6- Wicket Win Over Lucknow Super Giants

A Superb bowling effort and a fine unbeaten fifty by impact player Sameer Rizvi and ably supported by Tristan Stubbs  helped Dehi Capitals  Beat Lucknow Super Giants by six wickets in a Tata IPL 2026 encounter in Lucknow .

Earlier DC Skipper Axar Patel won the toss and opted to bowl first . And DC were on top of LSG right from the start. LSG were off to a horror start with Skipper Rishabh Pant ( opening the innings was run out as a Mitchell Marsh drive hit seamer Mukesh Kumar’s hands and hit the stumps , with Pant unfortunately out of his  crease  at the non- striker’s end ) for 7. Marsh struggled too and played an uncharacteristic innings of  35 ( 28 balls 2 fours 3 sixes), Aiden Markram  ( 11 ), Ayush Badoni ( 0) , Nicholas Pooran ( 8) bolwed by a beauty slow ball from Ngidi. LSG innings were in tatters.

DC continued to take wickets regularly. That Abdul Samad top-scored with 36 told the story of the LSG batting line-up. Mukul Choudhary (14), Shahbaz Ahmed  not out 15, Mohammed Shami ( 1), Anrich Nortje (0), Mohsin Khan (0). LSg were eventually bolwed out for a miserable 141/10 in 18.4 overs.

DC Bowling was spot on :  Lungi Ngidi outstanding 3/27( 3.4 overs) and well backed up  by T Natarajan 3/29( 4 overs), Mukesh Kumar 0/17 ( 3 overs) , Axar Patel 1/17 ( 3 overs), Kuldeep Yadav 2/31 ( 4 overs), Vipraj Nigam 0/8 ( 1 over)

In reply DC were rocked early with K L Rahul dismissed first Ball for 0 0ff comeback man Mohammed Shami. Sri lankan Pathum Nissanka too did not last long out for just 5  . Nitish Rana threatened to score big but fell for 15 and Skipper Axar Patel out without disturbing the scorecard . DC chase looked shaky as they  slipped to  26/4 in 4.4 overs.

Fortunately for DC a fine 119 run partnership between  Sameer Rizvi and South African Tristan Stubbs dashed LSG’s hopes of  a victory .

Rizvi was exceptional and played s calm composed innings even as wickets fell around him  and went on to score a fine unbeaten 70 ( 47 balls , 5 fours, 4 sixes).  Stubbs to gave Rizvi fine support and played a timely innings of 39 not out ( 32 balls, 3 fours, 1 six).

As usual  the LSG dug-out after the loss saw an animated conversation between team owner Sanjeev Goenka and Skipper Rishabh Pant. Bringing back memories of the Goenka’s  spat with then Skipper K L Rahul. Rahul eventually leaving the fanschise .
