Sunrisers Hyderabad playing in in front iof their hoem crowd came up with clincal show to beat Punjab Kings by 33 runs . The win saw SRH now at the top of the points table in TataIPL 2026. Earlier Punjab Kings won the toss and opted to field first.
And the the explosive SRH openers gave the huge crowd their moeny’s worth with their fiery start from the word go. Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head did not take time to get going . Abhishek Sharma 35 ( 13 balls , 2 fours, 4 sixes), Travis Head 38 ( 19 balls 3 fours, 3 sixes). What a start ! 85-2, 6.4 overs.
The attack was relentless to the agony of Punjab bowlers – Ishan Kishan 55 ( 32 balls , 2 fours , 4 sixes), Heinrich Klaasen smashed 69 ( 43 balls , 3 fours, 4 sixes). Punjab were let down too by their shoddy fielding and dropped catches at the end proved costly and was diffrence between the two sides. Nitish Kumar Reddy played nice unbeaten cameo 29 ( 13 balls , 2 fours, 2 sixes). SRH posing a massive 235/4 in their 20 overs.

For Punjab Kings the chase was always going to be tough. SRH Skipper Pat Cummins led the way with his bowling and his astute captaincy and field placings and was righly named player of the match . Punjab had no answer. Priyansh Arya out for 1 to Cummins , Prabhsimran Singh 3 , Skipper Shreyas Iyer 5 , Marcus Stoinis 28 ( 14 balls , 3 fours, 2 sixes) gave hope but fell , hero of previous match Suryansh Shedge 25 another victim of Cummins. Shashank Singh 4, Marco Jansen 19 , Vijaykumar Vyshak not out 1 .
The only bright in the Punjab Kings batting was the maiden unbeaten hundred on Tata IPL debut by impressive Cooper Connolly 107 ( 59 balls , 7 fours 8 sixes). As Punjab Kings could manage 202/7 in teir 20 overs. SRH winning emphatically by 33 runs .

SRH Bowling : Pat Cummins 2/34 ( 4 overs) Nitish Kumar Reddy 1/11 ( 2 overs), Eshan Malinga 1/36 ( 4 overs), Sakib Hussain 1/40 ( 4 overs), Shivang Kumar 2/45 ( 4 overs), Harsh Dubey 0/36 ( 2 overs) . Cummins rotated his bowlers well .
